Sr. Brand Director, Colorectal Cancer

Job Title: Sr. Brand Director, Colorectal Cancer
Location: Florham Park, NJ


Primary Function

As an integral member of the US Marketing Team and the International Product Team, the Sr. Brand Director, Colorectal Cancer, will lead the preparation of one of HUTCHMED’s first product launches in the US. Using prior experience and marketing expertise the Brand Director will set the strategic direction for the brand, collaborate within cross-functional teams, hire and lead a marketing launch team, manage external agencies, ensure alignment of internal and external stakeholders to meet business and strategic goals, and articulate plans to Senior Leadership.


Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Leads the collaborative planning, alignment, approval, execution, measurement and ongoing refinement of product marketing strategies designed to drive US performance for the brand
  • Leads all commercial launch initiatives for a potential launch in oncology including market development, pre-launch planning excellence with cross functional partners, and successful, timely launch kick off with full complement of strategically driven programs on time and on budget
  • Demonstrates expertise of the colorectal cancer area, market trends, key thought leaders, advocacy organizations, etc. and aligns closely with Insights and Analytics team to ensure deep understanding of market dynamics, using that insight to develop targeted strategies and tactics
  • Fosters strong partnerships with Clinical Development, Sales, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Market Access, Strategic Insights, Analytics, Patient Advocacy, Regulatory, Legal, and other functions in developing the brand strategy, to ensure aligned launch objectives and implementation across all functions
  • Develops and leads the brand planning process, including long-range forecasting, strategic and tactical plans with associated budgets and project timelines
  • Manages productive external relationships with Key External Experts (KEE) in partnership with Medical Affairs and Patient Advocacy
  • Develops and executes impactful unbranded and branded campaigns, ensuring key promotional programs are managed effectively, achieving KPIs on time and on budget
  • In collaboration with Insights, Analytics, and Business Intelligence, tracks, monitors, and reports on key performance indicators monthly; leading monthly business reviews with cross-functional partners to ensure objectives are being met
  • Builds high performing marketing team through talent acquisition, succession planning and professional development
  • Tight budget oversight and management; ensuring a productive and cost-effective relationship with external agencies and partners


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
  • Minimum 7 years US pharmaceutical marketing leadership, with oncology experience
  • Global brand marketing experience strongly desired
  • Product launch experience required
  • 5 years’ experience leading brand strategic plan process
  • Outstanding leadership, team management and presentation skills
  • Sales mgmt, market access, digital marketing, and/or market research experience are a plus
