Director, Digital Marketing

Primary Functions

This position is a highly valued member of the Marketing leadership team reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing.  You will be responsible for developing and executing digital marketing strategies across various stakeholders for brands within the oncology/hematology portfolio as well as corporate branding. We are seeking a leader in strategic communications and digital engagement, including omni-channel promotional campaigns, media plans, website creation, banner ads, search, emails and the advancement of intelligent marketing technology to drive a holistic customer experience across multiple stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure the integrated and seamless delivery of brand messages to our customers. As the leader in omni-channel marketing, you will liaise with the extended brand team, with the analytics team, and with the sales team to ensure tight alignment in our launch year.  As HUTCHMED’s portfolio grows, this role has the potential to expand to a leadership position with direct report(s).


Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create HCP and Patient digital vision, strategy, and tactics that compliment other marketing initiatives for our portfolio of pre-launch and earlier stage products
  • Partner closely with Brand teams and agencies to develop brand strategy
  • Develop and implement engaging multi-channel and digital programs for patients and prescribers and their staff across web and owned digital platforms
  • Lead the development of digital-specific content, leveraging marketing campaign creative
  • Keep abreast of and implement new technologies and innovation that drive brand goals
  • Provide expert direction in optimizing and measuring the effectiveness of digital strategies and tactics
  • Partner with Analytics Team to manage customer database and to establish goals and performance metrics; translate those data into actionable insights that will enhance customer experience and maximize return on investment within various channels
  • Manage external agencies and legal/medical/regulatory review processes
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Strong budget planning and management


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BA/BS required; MBA/MS is a plus
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience, with significant experience in digital marketing strategy and implementation in any industry. Agency experience (pharma clients) will be considered
  • Oncology/Hematology/Rare Disease experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of marketing fundamentals and ability to align marketing strategy and customer objectives to tactical, digital campaign design
  • Demonstrated experience in developing a wide range of successful digital campaigns, including strategy and development of: brand websites, CRM journeys, paid search, organic search, social platforms, and both broad and targeted HCP and patient programs
  • Working knowledge of website and advertising analytic tools
  • Experience with marketing technologies, data science and marketing operations
  • Experience in partnering with advertising, media and other agencies to execute a cohesive multi-channel HCP/ patient experience
  • Strategic and confident with an ability to think outside the box to bring the right solutions to HCPs and patient; we’re bringing innovative medicines to patients, and we want you to help us reflect that innovation in our digital marketing
  • Team leadership experience is a plus
