Director, New Products Marketing

Job Title: Director, New Products Marketing
Location: Florham Park, NJ


Primary Function

The Director of New Products is an integral member of both the US Marketing Team and the cross-functional International Product Development Team. The New Products Director is responsible for the commercial leadership of HUTCHMED’s portfolio of early-to-mid-stage assets and will provide strong commercial insight to the clinical development team. S/he will be responsible for deep understanding of market dynamics, long-range forecasting, key external expert development, and early commercialization strategy.  S/he must be well-versed in drug development and have demonstrated influential leadership in a cross-functional setting. HUTCHMED’s robust portfolio may provide opportunity for the incumbent in this role to follow an asset through to launch.


Major Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide strategic commercial leadership for pipeline of hematology candidates in early-to-mid stage development by proactively contributing the commercial perspective to the International Product Development team
  • Through strong collaboration with Insights and Analytics teams, develop comprehensive disease state market assessments including: disease overview; patient population/ segmentation; treatment paradigms; competitive assessments (current and future); unmet needs assessment
  • Lead the development of competitive target product profiles (TPPs) and supporting claims based on this deep understanding of market dynamics and potential future trends
  • In close collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Health Economics teams, develop robust payer and health system value propositions that can be supported by the clinical programs
  • Partner with Medical Affairs to create strong Key External Expert Engagement and Congress strategies, as well as relevant collateral to support the portfolio’s scientific story
  • Through proactive partnership across internal, cross-functional stakeholders and key external experts, develop, refine and implement aligned portfolio strategies
  • Present commercial insights, New Product strategies and long-range forecasts to senior management at key decision points
  • Develop and execute market preparation plans and early brand plans for pipeline assets – present to senior management during brand planning & budget reviews


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in business or science preferred
  • Minimum 7 years in pharmaceutical industry, with 5 years of hematology/oncology experience
